Born to a Puerto Rican mother and Mexican father, Sofia Martinez grew up in a household where spices were treated like family treasures. After traveling through Latin America and Southeast Asia in her twenties, Sofia developed an uncanny ability to identify and blend spices by scent alone. With 15 years of experience developing recipes that transform everyday dishes into flavor adventures, Sofia specializes in making complex flavor profiles accessible to home cooks. Her signature "Five Spice Method" has helped thousands of followers overcome bland cooking and discover their own spice intuition. When not in her kitchen lab, Sofia teaches workshops at her community garden in Austin, Texas.
